Ian Black, R.F.P., TEP

A native of B.C.’s Okanagan, Ian graduated from the University of British Columbia in 1992 with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, and then worked for a major Credit Union for three years. He joined Macdonald, Shymko & Company Ltd. (MSC) in 1996, and became a principal in 2000. He has completed the Canadian Securities Course, holds an Associate Certificate in Financial Planning from the British Columbia Institute of Technology, attained the R.F.P. (Registered Financial Planner) designation in 1999 and the TEP (Trust & Estate Practitioner) designation in 2011. Ian is a Practitioner Member of the Institute of Advanced Financial Planners (IAFP), and is registered under MSC’s Portfolio Manager status.

Outside the office, Ian enjoys skiing and running.  On evenings and weekends, he can be found cheering at his children’s sporting and arts activities.
